Because BONAVENTURA uses natural leather, it may have original scars and tigers and there are individual differences as well, such as patterns and sizes of the grain depending of course on the pattern which is used. 

Cows have wrinkles on their skin. The particular aspect is that the wrinkles peaks and valleys cause an irregular coloration of the leather underlining in this way the contrast of the color. These genuine effects are called "tigers" because their appearance looks like a tiger stipe pattern. "Tigers", unique grain marks with striped patterns and long veins signs on the leather surface are popular as natural engravings that enhance the look of the leather itself.

These are patterns that can be found only in natural leather, and which should not be considered as imperfections.

BONAVENTURA shrunken calf leather, also known as Full Grain Calf leather is purchased from Perlinger, a well-established tannery in Germany since 1864. It is made by chrome tanning using a naturally bred in Europe calf. It shrinks the surface area from about 20 to 30% without applying heat for more than one week.

The grain produced through this process has an irregular and natural pattern, so even on a large piece of leather there will be different grain sizes. The difference in the size of the grain is a proof of the natural leather and its individual characteristics, so please enjoy the beautiful and original texture.

The peculiarity of this leather is that it is durable thanks to the shrinking process but it is also soft because of the young age of the calf. The leather develops a natural patina while ages softly, gently and beautifully.

Clean the phone and the hard case from any dust. Put the iPhone in the right side of the case and align it to the lock-screen button. Push the left side of the iPhone towards down until fully inserting it into the case until you hear “click”. Please make sure the smartphone is securely inside the hard case.

Push the upper left corner towards down. The upper corner around the camera hole is thin, be sure to remove the upper left corner first to avoid to break the case. Put your finger in the gap between the iPhone and the case. Push the lower left corner towards down and remove the Case.

BONAVENTURA Diary case uses natural leather and is made with a single piece of leather. At the beginning of use, the case may not close properly due to the tension in the leather, but the leather will soften in a few weeks. If you want it to get softer quickly, it is effective to rub the leather or to keep the case face downwards. 

The camera hole part is not attached in advance because the adhesive area is small.

When sewing the case, if you remove the ball knot, you will see the knot from the table, so the thread is cut off. In the case of BONAVENTURA, the thread at the beginning and end of sewing is overlapped to prevent the thread from unraveling. If the thread is unraveled, don't worry, you can't unscrew it with scissors.

You can use a case compatible with iPhone 8/7. Although the size of the camera hole is large, you can use it without reflection of leather when taking a photo. In addition, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus can also be used for iPhone 8/7 Plus.

Please treat the leather as you would any regular leather product.

For normal cleaning, wipe the product with a cotton, dry, soft cloth.

For strong stains, apply a little amount of leather products cleaner and wipe gently. Then, finish the cleaning with a dry wipe.

When using the cleaner, please try it in an inconspicuous part of your BONAVENTURA item before using it on the whole.

In the case of short time light dirt, it may be possible to remove it with the tape or eraser, but pay attention and be delicate.
